DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to the relocation of US 34, Unsigned Iowa 952 (old location of US 34) should be removed from the Primary Road System. It is to be reverted to the Municipal Street System of Burlington in accordance with the Iowa State Highway Commission Resolution adopted on April 13, 1966.

 

Unsigned Iowa 952 (old location of US 34) begins at the junction of US 61 in Burlington and travels in an easterly direction terminating at Central Avenue in Burlington, Iowa east of the junction of US 61.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Remove Unsigned Iowa in Des Moines County as follows:

 

Burlington:

 

Beginning at the junction of US 61 on Mount Pleasant Street; thence southeasterly through Sections 31 and 32‑T70N‑R2W to Wells Street; thence on Spring Street easterly to Central Avenue in Burlington, Iowa.

 

NOTE: In accordance with the Iowa State Highway Commission Resolution adopted April 13, 1966, Unsigned Iowa 952 will revert to the Municipal Street System of Burlington, Iowa.

 

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Trans­portation approve the removal of Unsigned Iowa 952 in Des Moines County, Iowa.

 

NOTE: To become effective December 31, 1976.
